My name is Jennifer and I’m the writer here at the Awakening Blog.

I believe that words hold incredible power. The power to bless, to encourage, to inspire, to challenge, to teach.

Written words can open doors to worlds in which our imagination can soar and we can be carried away to other places and times and possibilities.

My favorite fictional books are ones in which the writer creates a world from nothing and fills it with magic and meaning and draws beautiful parallels between that world and our own. Words that make us feel deeply, think deeply and give us a sense of wonder at the world around us.

I’m passionate about the beauty and purpose and the powerful role in our children’s lives of a mother, God’s biblical role for wives and the joy that comes from following God’s purpose and design for marriage.
I’m passionate about engaging with the world around us through a biblical worldview and taking seriously the call to be a salt and light in this world for the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Whether the words here tell a story about the many experiences within motherhood or thoughts on current events, I desire this space to be full of good words, encouraging words, truthful words. I pray they communicate the gospel with courage, love, and truth.
